Tampa Bay continues its award-winning legacy

According to Sports Business Journal, Tampa Bay is the Best Sports City for 2021.
The publication highlights several aspects of the city that helped it earn the award. First, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won Super Bowl LV, the first time a team played in and won on its home field. Amid the pandemic and overcoming numerous challenges, the league and the city made a $2 million investment in the Forever 55 social legacy, and the game offered an important message about the safety and efficacy of COVID vaccines less than two months after they had first become available around the world.
Not to be overlooked, the Tampa Bay Lightning also took their second consecutive and third overall Stanley Cup in franchise history, defeating the Montreal Canadiens.
Tampa Bay was host to two of the sports industry’s biggest events: WrestleMania 37 and, of course, Super Bowl LV, which featured 25,000 fans at Raymond James Stadium, including 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers. In addition, the city hosted the Toronto Raptors in its Amalie Arena and the Toronto Blue Jays in nearby Dunedin, Florida.
