IMEX America Daily Update 2 - Tuesday November 9, 2021

The IMEX America Daily Update provides you with a quick overview of things to consider at our yearly tradeshow of the global business events community in Las Vegas. Our 'anchorman' Gerrit Heijkoop (Mr. Red Sneakers) shares with you what's going on this day, the latest headlines from our exhibitors and partners and his favourite daily Las Vegas Tip. Here;'s what he had to say about IMEX America on Tuesday November 9th, 2021: Hello, this is the IMEX America Daily on Tuesday November 9. My name is Gerrit Heijkoop and I’m bringing you the latest news from IMEX America, every day of this week. Let’s look at just a few of the things happening at IMEX America today, as our fabulous show floor opens its doors: Daybreaker co-founder, CEO and Chief Community Architect, Radha Agrawal will show you how to find your people, create your dream community and nurture your sense of belonging at this morning’s MPI keynote. This bunch of happy people will be welcoming you on to the show floor – Ray, Carina and the entire IMEX team cannot wait to see you all, at this first day of our exhibition. Although Smart Monday may be over, the opportunities for learning have only just begun. Head over to the Inspiration Hub for a packed programme of education throughout the show. And in case you couldn’t get here, we're broadcasting live from the show floor bringing you education, wellness moments and so much more, with BuzzHub live from IMEX America. Away from the show floor, the LGBT MPA opening night networking reception at the Eyecandy Bar & Lounge here at Mandalay Bay, is just one of many celebratory events taking place in Las Vegas tonight, as the global business events community revels in being back together again. And now time for today’s headline news from our IMEX America partners and exhibitors: ExCeL London announces a 25% expansion in floor space of 25,000 square metres, consolidating its position as one of the largest exhibition and conference hubs in Europe. The Above and Beyond Foundation delivered 1,000 grants to hospitality workers who lost their jobs as the pandemic hit. Great example of just one of the organisations that pivoted during the pandemic. As travel recovers, Loews Hotels is paying it forward by helping neighbourhood schools. For every appointment during IMEX America this week, Loews will donate $5 to, a non profit helping teachers and schools. And after two years of being closed to the outside world, Fiji’s 333 islands, and endless beaches, are opening up to visitors next month. As we end today’s bulletin, I’d like to share my top Vegas tip for today: book a place on the IMEXrun, developed by Voqin and sponsored by simpleview. Taking place first thing tomorrow morning, you’ll be running along the iconic Las Vegas strip, as dawn breaks over the desert - a pretty special experience. Or as the show’s perimeter is an impressive 1km you could clock up the same distance by running around the show five times – the choice is yours. Thank you for watching this update all the way to the end. You’re the best! See you tomorrow for more news about IMEX America! - Calling all meetings and events professionals!
