Marina del Rey navigating new waves in 2024

Four miles north of LAX, the seaside enclave Marina del Rey is undergoing a striking transformation.
Four miles north of LAX, the seaside enclave Marina del Rey is undergoing a striking transformation.

Marina del Rey, a coastal community in Los Angeles, will set sail into 2024 with new offerings including hotel renovations and restaurant openings.

With the exciting array of new developments on the horizon, visitors and locals alike can look forward to an enhanced experience in Marina del Rey that combines laid-back luxury, culinary delights and picture-perfect waterfront views.

Hotel renovations will include the Jamaica Bay Inn, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, as well as the Hilton Garden Inn. Jamaica Bay will undergo renovation of its 111 guestrooms and suites. The redesigned rooms will reflect the property’s proximity to the ocean, weaving in nautical colors and textures as a nod to the Marina. The renovation will take place this fall just in time to showcase its newly renovated rooms and suites in 2024. The Hilton Garden Inn will embark on a renovation at the end of this year aimed at enhancing its 136 guestrooms and suites, including its spacious loft studios, lobby and on-site restaurant.

Marina del Rey will also welcome new members to the culinary scene. Winston Pies is set to open its waterfront location this fall at the open-air retail and dining destination, Boardwalk Shops, and will feature handmade artisan pies baked daily. Pizza lovers will soon enjoy pizza by the slice when ROCA Pizza debuts later this year at Waterside Shops.

Marina del Rey’s newest party boat, Duchess Pub, opened in July 2023. The Duchess Yacht Service operates a 26-passenger pedal-powered pontoon boat offering harbor tours for groups of all ages. The new vessel is available for private charters as well.
