The InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is home to The Summit—one of the most renowned meeting facilities in the world. Perched on top of a mountain, the conference center is surrounded by a rainforest nature reserve and offers aerial views of the resort’s private beach and lagoon below.
Designed by architect Bill Bensley, the event space reflects the resort’s yin and yang aesthetic with a black and white signature design fused with striking lime green details. Bensley’s goal was to create a space bursting with energy and life that encouraged guests to engage and collaborate.
Each room in The Summit features a different theme and blends traditional touches, like those inspired by Vietnamese temples, with contemporary elements. Among these are the gallery-like space known as the “zebra crossing,” the Cheeky Monkey—a tucked-away, intimate spot with banana motifs—and an expansive light-filled Reception Hall promoting inspiration and imagination.
Open since 2017, The Summit was constructed to host the 2017 APEC Summit, which brought together world leaders from 20 countries. The APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting took place in the Reception Hall—a perfect space for gala events, elegant celebrations and product launches. This grand inaugural event is commemorated in the facility’s APEC Garden.
